2014 HAUT-RIAN BORDEAUX SEC

I know I seem to say this upon every release but 2014 is one of the most seamless versions of Michel’s flagship white wine that we have offered to date!! Normally through the wine’s evolution, we see it go from tropical to citrus to mineral, for version 2014 it seems to have all of the components in place right now.
Integrated scents of lemon-lime, mango and oyster shell careen from the glass and carry over to a vivid texture that is complete, very refreshing and already reveals way more complexity than a 10 buck white ever should. This wine pairs with so many different selections but it is most appropriate analogy would be that it is to oysters as what milk is to chocolate chip cookies. This is one to order by the trunkload!! First words out of my mouth when tasting this earlier were “strawberries and sea”. This is exactly what what is occurring on this immaculate rose that at 10 bucks slays all others in its price point. Good luck finding something from Provence at this price that’s this good!!
Bursting but very precise with definite sense of place sketched in with the red fruits and marine aspects. Brisk, brilliantly focused and one that goes down excessively easily yet maintains a serious undertone to it. Enjoy a bottle or six with grilled fish dishes, crab, hors d'oeuvres, salads and light vegetarian fare. ORDERS PLACED WILL ARRIVE END OF MAY!!.
2012 HAUT-RIAN COTES-DE-BORDEAUX ROUGE

As we know, Michel is prolific in White and Rose wine but he is equally adept with his superbly priced red wines. a spectacular value, this classic Bordeaux blend comes from various sites along the slopes of the Garonne River which encompass limestone, clay and gravelly soils. More and more as we look at vintage 2012 in Bordeaux, we are recognizing that it is VERY good indeed.
Instantaneous blueberry, roasted coffee, rose petal and mineral tones surround smoke, subtle cigar box and underlying licorice, all which take excellent form and present themselves in a deceptively deep manner. Lacy, silky texture with a classic firm Bordeaux middle that builds and flows judiciously into a finish that takes off, especially given its price point. Very versatile with food pairings. Drink over the next 3-5 years with chicken, rib-eye steak, grilled pork, andouillette sausage, even pizza. ORDERS PLACED WILL ARRIVE END OF MAY!!
