2012 FATTORIA DI FELSINA
CHIANTI CLASSICO RISERVA
$27.99 BTL./$335.88 CASE

Here is a special chance to score some bottles at a special price from a vintage that certainly has no shortage of penetration, power and persistence. The 2012 is everything that top Chianti Riserva should be. Layered and loaded the aspects of both terroir and Felsina's distinction.

Subtle hints of cedar, thyme, earth, and plenty of chocolate covered red fruit, glimpses of mint and tobacco add complexity and bring everything into its full, upright position. In the mouth, it is succulent, deep and complete showing deceptive structure and weight from start to finish. There's plenty of dramatic material throughout this wine that allows for nice access, but with some age, it will develop and smooth out even more. Felsina's Riserva is a true Tuscan gem and very fairly priced given its outstanding quality. Anyone who has traveled to Tuscany or loves Italian reds should make a point to experience this particular Chianti. Drink now through 2025 with roasted lamb seasoned with Italian herbs and spices.

2015 FILLIATREAU SAUMUR ROUGE
'CHATEAU FOUQUET'
$14.99 BTL./$179.88 CASE

Darlings, this is Cabernet Franc, but what it really is, is Cabernet Franc with attitude! When poured in the glass, the hue of purple is stunningly gorgeous. Equally gorgeous are the aromas! Scintillating scents of black cherry, ironstone, dark chocolate cocoa powder, but most importantly is its intense presence of sandalwood. Mouthcoating, high-toned, layered and very vinous. This is total food wine and is one that makes Parisians go ape-merde-crazy! Persistent as hell, this is a seriously pleasurable glassful of Cab Franc. Very French in all aspects, enjoy with rillettes, pate, duck breast, roasted chicken or soft-ripened cheeses.

Over the years, we have featured this formidable and influential producer’s red wines from the Loire Valley's Saumur region. Domaine Filliatreau is one of the leaders in producing unoaked versions that reflect origin, varietal and best of all, are the epitome of vin de soif. Drink now, drink often!

2015 CAMERON PINOT NOIR
'RIBBON RIDGE'
$21.99 BTL/$263.88 CASE

Once again, John Paul from Cameron returns with this performance enhancing Pinot from Ribbon Ridge. From two vineyard sites (Armstrong and Foster Farms) this wine is truly a Cameron wine but behaves very differently than the Pinots that emerge from John’s Dundee Hills sites.

The 2015 Cameron Ribbon Ridge Pinot is a stunner and the result of impeccable farming and attention to detail. Cerebral as hell with dark berry fruit, violet, kisses of cedar and prominent Ribbon Ridge red earth tones. Brazen, bodacious and broadly textured yet being a Cameron wine, it maintains balance along with poise for being larger-scaled. Revealing excellent fruit to support the terroir aspects, this luxurious Pinot does not stop! The wine gains backbone on the drawn-out, billowy finish all making it a very enjoyable wine to have over the next 5-8 years.

2013 CIRO PICARIELLO FIANO D'AVELLINO
'CIRO 906'
$23.99 BTL./$287.88 CASE

Whether France, Italy, Spain or the New World, Ciro Picariello’s special cuvee Fiano D'Avellino ‘Ciro 906’ is one of the most intriguing and pleasing white wines that I have tasted thus far in 2017. Because of the cool microclimate, 1800-foot elevation and due to the poor volcanic soils, this is a prime growing area for white wine. The Fiano di Avellino takes its name from the variety that the Latins called Vitis Apiana because the vine's grapes were so sweet that they proved irresistible to bees.

A young estate founded in 1997, the Ciro 906 comes from a single vineyard that is the highest elevated site on the property and only 300 or so cases are produced. Aged 12 months in stainless steel tanks then a further 6 months in bottle before release, one sniff of this wine reveals its striking qualities. Stony, oceanic aromas prevail with underlying rose-oil, Anjou pear and prominent pink grapefruit tones. Propelling flavors that are nicely formed and concentrated along with a sense of weightlessness. Succulent, dry and really hangs around, this is an ultimate vehicle with seafood.
