A sneak peek of what I feel will be the season’s apex 10 buck dry pink wine. A beautiful-to-gawk-at pale pink color, this wine presents itself as one cool customer!

Very French and revealing more and more as the wine unfolds in the glass. Herbs, subtle spice and prominent wild strawberry character, the nerve and lightning of this dry wine invade, attack and occupy the palate. Beautiful breed from start to finish, there is extraordinary burst that make this dry pink wine so scrumptious. Perfect with a plate of clams, fresh crab, as an aperitif as well as matching nicely with grilled veggies, especially onions.

As we know, Michel Dietrich is prolific in White and Rose wine but he is equally adept with his superbly priced red wines. A spectacular value, this classic Bordeaux blend comes from various sites along the slopes of the Garonne River encompassing limestone, clay and gravelly soils. There is so much to love about this wine and with vintage 2013, there is even more! Michel produced no Cuvee Prestige in this vintage so all of the old vines and grand sites for his lux wine are all in this offering. A year on, this wine is absolutely delicious right now!

A Classy Bordeaux with pronounced Cabernet and Merlot aromas and flavors of smoked mineral, violet, cherry, tea leaf and a touch of tobacco. Medium-bodied, full of flesh, direct and well made. A great house red to enjoy over the next year or two with roasted chicken, burgers or mild cheeses.

Cuvee Prestige is Michel Dietrich's luxury red…and it's all of 15 bucks!! Meticulously selected old vine parcels and aged in barrique with a portion being new, this wine is one of the area’s great overachievers and provides greatness and longevity for such a fair price.

True to its Bordeaux spirit, this smokin’ good red wine is almost St-Emilion-like in its stature and quality, and best yet, it’s 15 bucks! Combining blackberry with cranberry scents along with espresso, dark chocolate and smoky tones riding shotgun, there is ample soul to go along with the sterling core of fruit. So much to love, there is succulence and soul throughout with a finish that shows Cabernet spice and depth. Old vines rule the day! Youthful yet very intriguining and lovable. Have this over the next 6-8 years with a grilled rib-eye with shallots sweated in butter, roasted duck or rack of lamb.
