2015 DOMAINE CHAPUIS
BOURGOGNE CHARDONNAY
$16.99 BTL./$203.88 CASE

An apex producer that excels in excellent value wines, Domaine Chapuis is a small estate specializing in Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Gamay. This particular wine differs from the estate’s Macon-Mancey, and even though it may be labeled as such, the Domaine prefers to label this one as Bourgogne Chardonnay due to the differences in soils and exposures. Having more in common with higher-priced Rully or Montagny, this white does not see any new barrels.

Aged in 1-3 year old barrels, Bosc pear, lemon and cereal tones shine with underlying pure minerality on the nose. There is impressive charisma here. In the mouth, it seems to pirouette like a ballerina before it gains depth and zest with prominent powdery mandarin, stone and faint spice aspects arriving on the finish. Drink over the next 2-3 years with the usual suspects that go well with white burgundy, scallops, sole or chicken with mushrooms…This wine used to be a great deal for 19.99, due to the currency exchange working in our favor, this wine is now and unmitigated heist for 16.99. Only 20 cases available and given the popularity of it, past experience shows it sells out quickly.

2014 RIDGE PETIT SIRAH
'LYTTON ESTATE'
$39.99 BTL. - LIMITED
95 PTS - VINOUS

This is Pure Wine Fury and is a selection we do not get to offer to the entire list all too often. From 1972 through 1992 Ridge produced a Petite Sirah that had become quite talked about by fans who have long followed this famed California producer. In 2009 it re-emerged with plenty of gusto and we are proud to have it alongside their hallowed Zinfandel blends.

“The 2014 Petite Sirah Lytton Estate is outstanding. Deep, luscious and intense, but with none of the aggressiveness Petite so often presents, the 2014 is utterly captivating from the very first taste. Dark red and blue-hued stone fruits, mint, spices and licorice are front and center. The purity of the fruit here is simply remarkable. As hard as it may be to believe, the 2014 can be enjoyed on the young side. This is a tremendous wine. Don't miss it! 2018 – 2034.” — 95 POINTS – ANTONIO GALLONI, VINOUS

2012 PAOLO PETRILLI
FORTUITA ROSSO
$11.99 BTL./$71.94 - SIX PACK

After tiring of turkey, I decided to make a red sauce and have a bottle of this excellent red and given how delectable it is showing, I thought that you all must experience it as well.

40% Sangiovese, 30% Aglianico, 20% Montepulciano & 10% Nero di Troia. Vibrant, redolent and inviting on the extending finish, this wine succeeds where so many other wines from Puglia fail. Yes, it is voluptuous and teeming with impact, yet maintains enlightening fruit and earth character. A virtuoso over-achiever! Try it with penne pasta done arrabbiata style - tomatoes and hot chili flakes, spicy sausages or Latin cuisine. At 12 bucks, drink this red now and drink it often, we certainly will!

2011 FELSINA CHIANTI
CLASSICO RISERVA
SPECIAL $27.99 BTL./$335.88 CASE

Fattoria di Felsina is one of the greatest and most profound of all Tuscan and Chianti properties. The style here is one of power due to prime plots in the southern area of Castelnuovo Berardenga. Felsina first gained fame for doing away with the lesser quality varietals of Chianti and bottling 100% Sangiovese wines in the 80s when it was still illegal to do so. Many consider this as both innovative and maverick, but we consider it genius because over the last 25+ years, Felsina is undoubtedly one of our favorite and greatest Chianti producers. Here is a special chance to score some bottles at a special price from a vintage that certainly has no shortage of penetration, power and persistence. The 2011 is everything that top Chianti Riserva should be. Layered and loaded the aspects of both terroir and Felsina's distinction. Subtle hints of cedar, thyme, earth, and plenty of chocolate covered red fruit, glimpses of mint and tobacco add complexity and bring everything into its full, upright position. In the mouth, it is succulent, deep and complete showing deceptive structure and weight from start to finish. There's plenty of dramatic material throughout this wine that allows for nice access, but with some age, it will develop and smooth out even more. Felsina's Riserva is a true Tuscan gem and very fairly priced given its outstanding quality. Anyone who has traveled to Tuscany or loves Italian reds should make a point to experience this particular Chianti. Drink now through 2025 with roasted lamb seasoned with Italian herbs and spices.

2014 LEMELSON PINOT NOIR
'SIX VINEYARDS'
$17.99 BTL./$215.88 CASE

A true to form Willamette Valley blend from one of Oregon's most fabulous and popular producers made from different vineyards spread out over various appellations, this is an unabashed steal.

Alluring glass-filling aromas laden with currant, violet and cinnamon notes along with a kiss of black pepper tones to add dimension provide pleasure from the moment the cork is pulled. The fragrances are enticing, but the palate is even more impressive! Full flavors that reflect the warm vintage crawl throughout the mouth, it is well poised with fine persistence for an under 20 Pinot. Drink over the next 3-4 years.

2011 CHATEAU CHARMAIL
HAUT-MEDOC
$29.99 BTL./$359.88 CASE

Located a mere 2 kilometers north of Saint-Estephe and a smaller Chateau, Charmail's vineyards planted to Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Petite Verdot are contiguous around the Chateau. What makes these wines possess good distinction is the virtual mosaic of terroirs (gravel, clay, sand and limestone) that bring ultimate dimension and depth. In just about all vintages of Charmail, these are well structured Bordeaux. Not only to name-check just St-Estephe, one could throw a baseball and it would land in the vineyards of the famed Chateau Sociando-Mallet who also happens to make quite renowned Bordeaux.

One of the great sleeper vintages that many wine insiders have figured out is the sneaky-fine 2011. Still no shortage of classic Bordeaux grip, the cool qualities of 2011 show up quite well, Laden with inviting cassis and red berry, smoke, engaging cooking herbs, potpourri and dark chocolate tones. Rather succulently textured and arriving in waves, the wine fills the mouth and has ample, underlying structure that will allow it to develop nicely. Drink through 2025.

BISOL PROSECCO
VALDOBBIADENE 'CREDE'
$19.99 BTL./$239.88 CASE

Bryan despises Prosecco, but Bisol is the one producer who makes him relent his position, these are some of the finest sparkling wines produced in Italy! Having been in the area since 1542, the Bisol family prides itself on the handcrafted, attention-to-detail aspects in all phases of their operation and it brilliantly follows through to their wines.

Crede is one of several single crus that Bisol produces to express the uniqueness of each of their microzones in the Valdobbiadene. The name Crede refers to the prominence of clay soils with sub-soils of marine sand, which allow the wine to possess a noble wealth of zest, aromatics, fruitiness, richness, and seriousness that is virtually never seen in Prosecco. Alluring scents of wildflowers, pears, apples and gently placed mineral shimmer from the glass; the texture is energetic, brisk, fruit driven and intense, yet the bubbles are some of the most finesseful and silky I've ever experienced in an Italian bubbly. Beautifully complex and way too classy to be tossed into a Bellini, treat this as you would with any other more expensive sparkling wine. Perfect for upcoming holiday fetes with out of town guests and family. Have it as an aperitif and especially with prawns or crab.
