2013 Col D'Orcia Rosso di Montalcino
[reg. $27.99]
Special - $19.99 BTL./$239.88 CASE

Col D'Orcia has been an important and well-run Montalcino property for almost 40 years and is consistently regarded as one of the region's prolific producers on all levels. The Montalcino vintage of 2013 was very classic indeed, and much on the lines of 2004 or 2006. We initially offered this wine last year but it is amazing what a year in the bottle can do for this wine!

Fragrant savory aromas leap from the glass. Packed with violet, red berry, sage and underbrush aromas, this wine emits its Sangiovese and Montalcino character. Typical of a Col D'Orcia wine, there is remarkable depth and personality in the mouth along with their tell-tale elegance, Italian tanginess and a nicely formed finish that is full of snap and extension. Great for 27, it is a steal at 20! Drink this giant-killer now-2021

2015 Baumard Savennieres
$26.99 BTL./$323.88 CASE

What more can we say about the Baumard family that we haven't already shouted. Among their spectacular sweet wines, they also produce scintillating dry white wines. Where else but the Loire Valley can you score a wine that will live 10 -15+ years and still sell for less than thirty dollars?

The Wine Spectator scored this mighty Loire Valley white 94 POINTS and named it Number 15 on their Top 100 but we prefer our "edited for content tasting notes:" Alluring fragrance of granite, mandarin, steel and spiced-tea. Really shows the depth and complexity of the highly ultra-successful 2015 vintage. Combines intensity of precision and cut with stellar, high-pitched fruit, youthful and compact now, but depth of low yields and old vines are truly in the mix. The finish is sterling, crystalline and long on minerality. Pretty tempting and impressive now. Drink it through 2026+, especially with grilled salmon.

2014 Chateau Beausejour Fronsac
$11.99 BTL./$143.88 CASE

A tasty red from an excellent Bordeaux producer who is located in the Fronsac appellation, not far from St-Emilion.

Coffee, plum, violet and prototype Right Bank energy. Bright undertones and forest floor scents come out along with classic mineral. In the mouth it is suave, stylish and ‘tres Bordelais’. Gentle spices, plenty of fruit and earth, lots of movement and expansion on the surprisingly long finish. This really punches above its weight class. Drink over the next 5-6 years.

2014 Long Shadows
Feather Cabernet Sauvignon
$65.99 BTL./$295.94 - SIX PACK

Part of Long Shadows, annually, this is one of the most sought-after cabs from Washington. Celebrated Napa Valley vintner, Randy Dunn, has built a reputation over four decades for producing world-class Cabernet Sauvignons. After making wines at Caymus from 1975-1985, Randy established Dunn Vineyards on Howell Mountain where he continues to craft distinctive wines of high acclaim. Randy Dunn's Napa Valley Cabernets from Dunn Vineyards are made of the stuff collectors crave; the wines are rare, acclaimed and age-worthy and what he has been doing with his Washington Cab for 15 years now is quite different but equally spectacular.

A mountain of a wine! 100% Cabernet Sauvignon from top-level Washington fruit, this is definitely a candidate for long-term aging. Impressively built yet maintaining a real sophistication of potent fruit, a presence of blackcurrant, anise, cocoa powder, violet, smoke and cedar box reveal depth and character. Flamboyant, full-textured and packed with teeth-staining flavors it builds into a whopping finish that leaves anyone with a hedonistic streak wanting more. No problem to drink and cellar through 2030.
