2013 IL MOLINO DI GRACE
CHIANTI CLASSICO
$19.99 BTL./$239.88 CASE

From Panzano in the northern sector of the Chianti Classico zone, Il Molino di Grace is one of Chianti's hidden treasures and values and now that the wines are brought in directly, their value level has certainly risen.

Taking full advantage of the splendor of the 2013 vintage , this Sangiovese-based red shines with balanced aromas of pomegranate, bing cherry, anisette, dried violets, mineral and sage. Traditional and very poised Chianti that is a perfect blend of red cherry fruit and earthy notes bringing complexity and making this perfect for the table right now. The structure is fine but substantial and will allow for aging for another 4-5 years. Have with slow braised or roasted meats over rich tomato-sauced pasta dishes.

2016 GIRLAN CHARDONNAY (UNOAKED)
$14.99 BTL./$89.94 - SIX PACK

Toss aside your preconceived notions of all Chardonnay being a two-by-four and a pound of butter because this one is steely, bracing, bone dry and most importantly, UNOAKED! A genuine favorite producer from Alto Adige, Girlan is one of the trendy producers in the area and deservedly so, the wines bring it. Many of you have experienced Girlan’s Pinot Blanc and Pinot Grigio but we want you to jump in and experience the third portion of their unoaked trilogy.

Clean, fresh and incredibly vibrant with open notes of spice, ripe peach and tangerine interlaced with beautiful minerality. The palate is zesty and pure with soft cardamom, pear and palate cleansing briskness following from the nose. A most versatile white that will make a fan of crisp and clean whites happy and will give chardonnay lovers a whole new insight into this chameleon of a varietal.

2011 SELLA & MOSCA 'TANCA FARRA'
ALGHERO ROSSO (Sardinia)
$23.99 BTL./$143.94 - SIX PACK

In a roundabout way, Sella & Mosca are somewhat responsible for saving the world’s wine industry. Originally founded in 1899, two savvy Piemontese businessmen used their sandy soils as a virtual nursery to plant new phyloxerra resistant rootstock for grapes like Cabernet Sauvignon which inevitably made their way to Bordeaux and other regions. After phyloxerra became a non-entity, Sella & Mosca went into business to make wine for themselves utilizing Cabernet and other French varietals which have long been in existence here well before Tuscany and other regions which have capitalized on the Cab phenomenon.

Tanca Farra is an excellent offering from Sardinia’s Alghero DOC that is a blend of 50% Cannonau and 50% Cabernet Sauvignon. Assertive and individual, very authentic aromas of black cherry, orange-pekoe, sea breeze, cracked pepper, wind-swept herbs are buffered by rosemary and licorice. Loads of depth, density, broadness, earth and dark spices fill the mouth and follow through to a spectacular, masculine finish that is well sculpted and drawn-out. One of the best Italian wines that I have tasted in 2017. No problem for this to live another 10 years, too. Enjoy this wine with lamb dishes.

2013 BREZZA BAROLO
$34.99 BTL./$209.94 - SIX PACK

100% Nebbiolo as is required and coming from a blend of vineyards from three Grand Cru village sites (Barolo, Monforte D’Alba & Novello), Brezza’s Barolo is always a remarkable wine for under 40 bucks. It is even more so in the wildly profound 2013 vintage with all of its pedigree and potential.

Big, full and youthful Barolo with sweet aromas of cigarbox, camphor, spun sugar, mushroom, dried flowers, and although layered and lavish, the fruit is red and very detailed in the mouth. Each flavor beautifully delineated and great harmony in the mouth make this Barolo very ageworthy. Open one up a couple of hours before dinner if you want to test drive a bottle but for best results, hold it until 2020 and drink through 2028. If you like scores, this has 94 points from Wine Enthusiast Magazine.

2015 MONTAUTO MAREMMA ROSSO
$12.99 BTL./$77.94 - SIX PACK

Located way down at the Southern border of Tuscany almost to the Lazio border, the terroir and wines here have such a uniqueness that will ultimately cause you to absolutely fall for this estate’s wines.

The Rosso is made with 80% Ciliegiolo and 20% Sangiovese and is ultra-fresh and engaging due to the non-use of oak. Fruit-dominated with savory raspberry, sage and lurking violet and spiced earth in the background. Juicy with classy, mouth-filling Southern Tuscan flavors that fill the mouth nicely from start to finish. At this price, we encourage you to buy a bunch and liberally toss it back!
