Our main man Pancetta placed this killer, Cellar Door favorite Italian wine on a nice special until it sells out. The region of Puglia is quite vast and there is a definite divide in styles with the wines from the northern and southern portions of the region. In the south, Negroamaro, Primitivo and Salice Salentino rule the day but in the north around the small city of Lucera, it is the Nero di Troia grape that drives the wines.
Agramente is actually a DOC wine from the specific region of Cacc’e Mmitte di Lucera. 60% Nero di Troia, 15% Sangiovese, 10% Montepulciano and 10% Bombino. We have been watching and enjoying the development of the 2015 Agramente for a couple of years now and what started out as rambunctious and ornery is now smooth, mellow and very classy indeed. Now showing the classic Italian dimension known as sotto bosco, which generally means underbrush, maybe with this wine one can think of a civilized Zin that has been cellared. Briary spice, some anise plenty of smoky aspects along with savory fruits. All smoothed out at the moment, this wine finishes with sass yet has no shortage of sophistication. Have this wine with a pasta with spicy ragu, lamb or smoked meats as well as a carnivorous pizza.

La Famille Dietrich scores again and this time with their scrumptious, very food friendly red Bordeaux.
Layers and persistence abound with plenty of mouth-coating black cherry fruit and spice along with a mineral tone that presents itself beautifully. Enjoy with a plethora of food choices. I have had this wine with cheeseburgers, penne with Bolognese sauce, pho all the way up to a fine beef tenderloin with a mushroom reduction sauce. I have heard others tell of how it goes with salmon or fried chicken. All said, not only is this red wine value fun, it is lip-smacking good.

Austria is not Germany and Germany is not Austria, the wines that come from these two countries are very different. For starters, the most important distinction to make is that most Austrian whites are dry. Although there are high quality and beautiful Rieslings made in both countries, Gruner Veltliner is an expertise of the Austrians.
Schlosskellerei Gobelsberg's gateway Gruner is one of the wines that I often reach for when showing the merits and telltale nuances of the grape. Symmetrical, sleek, athletic and energetic with mineral soaked lime and peach-pit aromas and flavors, the mineral intensity morphs into a crisp and fresh mouthfeel that instantly coats and cleanses the entire palate. Try this delicious Gruner with everything from salad, white sausages, salt-cod, blanched asparagus and grilled prawns all the way to pork chops with a fruit preparation.

95 Points – Vinous… A trickle more of the 2019 Lingua Franca Estate Pinot Noir has come available…and it now this apex Oregon Eola-Amity producer’s Estate Pinot has an impressive accolade.
‘Glistening ruby-red. Intensely perfumed aromas of fresh red and blue fruits, candied flowers, Asian spices and mocha; suggestions of vanilla and nori build as the wine opens up. Deeply concentrated but lively as well, offering juicy, mineral-laced black raspberry, cherry cola, boysenberry, candied rose and spicecake flavors that show superb clarity and back-end lift. Closes impressively long and precise, with polished, even tannins and resonating floral and spice notes. Drink 2024 – 2034.’ - 95 POINTS – VINOUS

The Pinerolese DOC is located between Torino and the French border of Italy’s Piedmont region and finding the wines outside of the area is extremely rare. Le Marie, located in the foothills near Monte Viso in the Alps deliver wines that slither in both the Italian and French Alpine style.
The 2020 Pinerolese is a blend of Barbera, Bonarda, Freisa, Chatus and Neretta Cuneese from vines planted before World War II in red schist soils. Sultry scents of plum, mushroom, underlying graham-like spice. Medium-to-full texture with mysteriousness that the local grapes deliver along with a hint of spiciness and tanginess brought forth by the Barbera, the Rouge de Lissart is a wine that can be uncorked with roasted or grilled meats, but also one that will age nicely for 8-10 years, too. This is what is so exciting about Italy right now, the use of indigenous grapes and the expression of the boot's diverse terroirs.

One of the oldest producers in Spain’s Galicia region, Granbazan makes Albarino wines that are cool, precise and provide lots of pleasure. Several versions of this white grape are produced here. The ‘Etiqueta Ambar’, or Amber label that is a leap up from the Green label version, that pushes all of our buttons when it comes to wines of this area.
Solely Val do Salnes fruit, there is remarkably complex scents that somersault straight from the glass. A kaleidoscope of Albarino delight, stone fruit mingles with white flowers, hints of balsamic notes and pronounced marine scents. Tasty, broad, alive and stretching across the palate and shining with old vine persistence, this is the ultimate magnet for seafood whether it be fried, grilled or raw.

While you see The Cellar Door highlighting many superb 12 and under wines, yinz never see how many defective choices I reject.
60% Grenache, 20% Syrah & 20% Mourvedre, this Southern French red is chock full of plum, garrigue, hot-rock and plenty of white pepper. Flavorful, generous and packed with spice from the fruit-forward start to the wild and unbridled finish. Gorgeous juice that screams for a grilled lamb, burgers, spaghetti & meatballs, pate, salami, sausage and more.

Founded in 1989 by Chris Camarda and named after his son Will (who is now winemaker) and nephew Andrew, this estate is legendary in Washington making extremely profound wines and is on the pedestal of the state’s early influences such as Leonetti, Woodward Canyon and DeLille. Commencing in 2002, Chris Camarda started to produce wines from various single vineyards utilizing blends of grapes influenced by Bordeaux. Do you ask if Chateau Latour or Mouton-Rothschild is Cabernet Sauvignon? No, you are drinking the great blend and gaining that essence of the site. Ciel du Cheval is from the Red Mountain appellation and is one of the longtime apex sites in Washington.
Located near Benton City the vines average 30 years old for this limited cuvee. Being a warm and torrid site Andrew Will prefers to make this wine sans Cabernet Sauvignon due to the loamy soils on gravel beds to reflect the site as well as its Right Bank influences. 57% Merlot, 43% Cabernet Franc, the 2016 is already very complex in its youth, this luxurious blend reveals prominent blueberry, raspberry and red earth. The use of oak here is intelligent with scents of tobacco and nutmeg soon to arrive. The texture possesses lots of movement and voluptuous qualities with a structured, solid middle, the maintaining a stacked, packed and long, substantial finish. Youthfully vibrant yet very ageworthy, expect a good 15-20+ years of drinking enjoyment.

95 points - Wine Enthusiast Magazine... The legendary David Ramey plays a significant role in the world's tapestry of mind-blowing examples of Chardonnay. David Ramey's expertise with Dominus, Chalk Hill and Matanzas Creek resonates within his own wines. The Bordeaux varietal blends and chardonnays that he creates are among the most compelling in all of California. In addition to maintain soul and a sense of realness, these wines consistently receive acclaim, and deservedly so, they are damn delicious.
'An incredible showcase for the appellation, this combines grapes from the producer’s estate Westside Farms with Dutton, Woolsey Road and Rochioli Allen, among others. Together it is broadly floral, earthy and richly integrated, with depth and complexity, the acidity vibrantly fresh. - 95 POINTS, WINE ENTHUSIAST.'
