One of Walla Walla’s best kept secrets. 40% Cabernet Sauvignon, 57% Merlot, 3% Petit Verdot.

A full-on, mouthful of wine yet with the spine and evenness of 2010 it maintains freshness, lift and character. Layered black cherry, plum, violet, and anise are all nicely encapsulated by underlying milk-chocolate coated espresso bean aromas. Mouth-filling and palate-staining, there is such an irresistible quality to this wine now but it can age for another 3-5 more.

It’s last call for this vintage of one of our favorite white Burgundy values. Superb farmer, 80 year old vines, brilliantly detailed.

Ample impact from the first moment it is poured, there is direct jump with lots of complexity. Mandarin notes shine but impressive flint, mineral, saline, cream and an ever so gentle kiss of spice enhance the very attractive aromas. Mouth filling, layered and energetic. Old vine depth and movement abound. Drink over the next 6-7 years. with salmon on a cedar plank.

Sensuous, refined aromas of blackberry, strawberry, soft, slightly elusive herbs, spices, and an underlay of earth and red-hot candy pepper tones build and build as the wine unfolds in the glass. Texturally, it is silky and seductive with clarity and exquisite finesse along with ultra-fine depth and tannins. All of the spices that are on the nose are present on the drawn-out finish. Drink this superb Oregon Pinot over the next 8-10 years.

2017 ANTOINE GRAILLOT & RAUL PEREZ
BIERZO 'ENCINAS'

This is what you get when two highly respected, influential producers collide together and make obscure brilliance.

Crozes-Hermitage wiz Antoine Grallot and Bierzo maestro Raul Perez collaborated on this particular Bierzo wine and made something very special indeed. Encouraged by Raul to ferment as he does with his Northern Rhone wines, Antoine utilized cement vats, went entirely whole cluster and transferred into large French barrels for 10 months. The results, especially given the cool climate sites in NW Bierzo, are magnificent.

Scintillating aromas build and build as very individual red wine made from Mencia unfolds in the glass. Seemingly inspired by St-Joseph meeting Southern Beaune crossed with a little Eastern Italy there are plenty of smoky coriander, perfumed red and black plum tones that are augmented by mineral and pristine cranberry-like freshness. Plenty of spine here, this wine can easily age for 10-12 years but we can’t encourage you enough to uncork a bottle early on.

2017 COS CERASUOLO DI VITTORIA

Schoolfriends Giambattista Cilia (C), Giusto Occhipinti (O) and Pinuccia Strano (S) began making wine for pleasure and ended up creating a company that would become one of the most renowned in Sicily. Passion for their hometown and a mission to produce top quality Cerasuolo di Vittoria and Nero d'Avola lead them to found COS in 1980. Years have passed and to this day, the estate remains one of the icons of Sicily.

Made with native Sicilian varietals, 60% Nero D'Avola and 40% Frappato, this hearty red is gorgeously fragrant. If roses are spicy, then this is it! Alluring tones of potpourri, roasted earth, tangy Italian spices and smoky mineral. In the mouth it is lavish, smooth and very savory with plenty of depth and personality. Deceptive spine and backbone are present, however once you taste it is pretty tough to keep your hands off of it. Loaded with vibrant fruit and persistence on the firecracker of a finish.
