2016 SYNCLINE 'SUBDUCTION' RED
$19.99 BTL./$239.88 CASE

A passion for Rhône varietals, James and Poppie Mantone settled into Lyle, WA to discover the vineyards along with the potential for these varietals grown in the area's diverse soils. Since the winery's inception in 2001, these wines have taken off and provide very real experiences of what Rhône grapes can achieve in our neighborhood.

40% Syrah / 20% Grenache / 15% Mourvedre / 14% Cinsault / 11% Carignan, Columbia Valley. Tasting notes from Syncline: ‘Long inspired by the wines of the Southern Rhone Valley, this is our answer to a Washington version of a Cotes-du-Rhone Villages wine. A blend of classic southern French varieties that are unique and expressive on their own; yet each contributes to create a harmonious whole. This charming, ruby colored wine exhibits black raspberry and cherry aromas and flavors. The bright, fresh finish, juicy mid-palate and excellent length provides a wine that is compatible with many foods and occasions.’

2016 SYNCLINE CARIGNAN-GRENACHE
$27.99 BTL./$335.88 CASE

63% Carignan / 38% Grenache from Horse Heaven Hills appellation. I absolutely adore this unique for Washington blend. Tasting notes from Syncline:

‘Wild and untamed, this wine contains substance and personality; certainly not prim and proper, but rarely are the best of times. Avant-garde meets tradition, in pioneering vineyards, two ancient varietals find a new home in the eastern Washington desert. Meaty, spicy aromas and bramble fruit flavors cavort with a refined texture and persistent finish.’

$19.99 BTL./$239.88 CASE

Very legit, this NW version of Austria’s spiritual grape is one hell of a tasty number and really deserves your attention. Tasting notes from Syncline:

‘From two cool climate regions in Washington State; Columbia Gorge and Terrace Heights: Underwood Mt. and Celilo Vineyards produce wines of exceptional focus and clarity, Bloxom Vineyard adds fresh, bright, and intense flavors. Dry and backed by crisp acidity, this wine shows flavors and aromas of classic Austrian Gruner; wet stone, white pepper, orange blossoms, lime and fresh mown hay.’

2017 SYNCLINE GRENACHE BLANC
$27.99 BTL./$335.88 CASE

Often the base for white Chateauneuf-du-Pape, I am always impressed with how well this wine turns out. From Yakima Valley’s famed Boushey Vineyard, this fabulous white wine really allows one to escape from American Chardonnay hell. From Syncline:

‘Rich, yet fresh and lively, this intriguing wine has aromas of orchard blossoms and citrus, complimented by flavors of fresh apple and star fruit. The overall acid structure and enticing aromas make this a standout wine.’
