2015 EMILIO MORO
RIBERA DEL DUERO
$24.99 BTL./$299.88 CASE

Not only is Emilio Moro one of the finest addresses in the upscale Ribera Del Duero region, this estate is also regarded as one of the best in all of Spain. Consistently this full-on red at this level represents outstanding value for 25 bucks. The 2015 is no exception and we are thrilled to offer it to you.

Made from 100% Tempranillo, the aromas are characterized by a predominance of wild red berries, perfectly blended with spices and balsamic aromas. The strength of this wine lies in the wide range of registers within these aromatic sub-groups. Cinnamon, licorice, vanilla, cloves, coconut, black pepper, menthol and more coming out as the wine unfolds in the glass. In the mouth, the attack is warm, friendly, supple and velvety leaving a feeling of plenitude and an aftertaste, which seems eternal in length and intensity characterized by rounded tannins and a complex mineral component. This wine can be drunk now and will develop and gain incredible dimension over the next 10-12 years as well. Serve with seared lamb chops stacked high on the platter.

2016 GARCIAREVALO RUEDA
'FINCA TRESOLMOS'
$14.99 BTL./$179.88 CASE

Garciarevalo is a family owned operation established in 1991 in Matapozuelos in the heart of Rueda and a few years back they were convinced to make a cuvee from their oldest plots with vines ranging from 100-140 years old. The results are magnificent.

Explosive and tickling you in places that you don't expect, this cool white is 100% is aged entirely in stainless steel tanks. One sip of this will give you reason to flash a cheesy-ass grin and continue pouring glass after glass. Lime, mandarin, marzipan and prominent mineral launch from the glass. In the mouth, brisk, enlightening and delicious flavors coat, and then cleanse the entire palate. A terrific value that will be cocky and flaunt its personality best with crab, scallops or cod.

2017 AMEXTOI TXAKOLINA
$19.99 BTL./$239.88 CASE

From the Getaraiko region overlooking San Sebastián, comes the Txakoli from Ameztoi. Ameztoi has achieved cult-like status with their pink version, however, the best wine and most classic is their white Txakoli. From the estate's vineyards, one can see the Atlantic Ocean, visualize, and feel the profound influence that it has on the grapes and the wines.

Made from the ever-popular (at least in this part of the Basque region) Hondarribi Zuri grape, slightly spritzy and at 10.5% alcohol, Ameztoi's Getaraiko Txakolina is a visceral white wine experience, especially when served and drank from a porron! Resoundingly fresh and shimmering, detailed and precise with perfumed crushed stone, seashore and lime-blossom scents that follow into a pleasing, bracing, vibrant, chalky and elevated mouth-feel. Truly a wine that will undoubtedly make anyone happy! Drink it now, drink it often, it is a marvelous accompaniment to sushi or other fresh seafood.

2014 J.PALACIOS BIERZO
'VILLA DE CORULLON'
[reg. $54.99]
SPECIAL - $39.99 BTL./$479.88 CASE
95+ POINTS - WINE ADVOCATE

We scored a hell of a deal on this Grand Cru Bierzo from the Palacios family who along with Raul Perez have been groundbreakers on modern Bierzo. The Corullon cuvee is from very old vineyards specifically coming from the Grand cru village of Corullon and the resulting wine is packed, stacked and much more serious than most in the area.

‘Cropped from a cooler vintage and, therefore, with a cooler profile, the village red (vino de villa in the new classification from the 2017 vintage), the 2014 Corullon, felt like a more complete version of 2013, clearly a more Atlantic (cooler) year, with notes of violets, lilies and pomegranate, really expressive, open and aromatic, more focused, precise, clean and with a palate that follows that same line, plus the verticality and minerality added by the slate soils. Hands down, one of the best (if not the best) vintages of Corullon. Bravo! – 95+ POINTS – THE WINE ADVOCATE.’ Drink through 2030.
