2011 Canalicchio Brunello di Montalcino
Special! $34.99 btl./$209.94 - six pk
94 points, Vinous & they list it for $85!

Located in the northern sector of Montalcino, Canalicchio di Franco Pacenti is a sleeper producer who produces wines from an exquisite terroirs that provide immense polish and breed but there is also no shortage of depth, structure or power behind these wines. This Brunello convincingly takes on the traits of its maker, holding its cards close to his chest, very debonair and revealing things on a need-to-know basis.

‘Pacenti's 2011 Brunello di Montalcino is fabulous. A striking, vibrant wine, the 2011 wraps around the palate with bright, red-fleshed fruit, iron, smoke, licorice and tobacco. The 2011 is a bit subdued and also open-knit by Pacenti's standards, yet the wine possesses exceptional balance - especially for the vintage - and a level of sheer appeal that is hard to capture with words alone. This is one of the few 2011 Brunellos will real upside. 2017 – 2028. - 94 Points, Antonio Galloni - Vinous

2013 Petroio Chianti Classico
$13.99 btl./$83.94 - six pack

Located North of Siena the fine wines of Fattoria di Petroio deliver a lot of bang for the buck and he newly arrived 2013 is no exception. Now firmly in charge of making the wines, after meeting and tasting with Diana Lenzi a few weeks back, we concluded that this young gal is kicking some serious Chianti arse with her Castelnuovo Berardenga-based wines.

Flaunting sexy fruit and minerality, the generosity of 2013 is formidable in this fine-buy Chianti Classico. Hearty cherry, underbrush and savory spices flow from the glass and follow through to a texture that possesses depth and personality that never give way to being flamboyant or overdone. Plenty of character and spine, this wine is an excellent accompaniment to just about any Italian-inspired meal.

2015 Montauto Maremma Rosso
$12.99 btl./$77.94 - six pack

Montauto is a new discovery for Todd ‘Pancetta’ Bacon and we are thrilled to have him pour two of their excellent wines. Located way down at the Southern border of Tuscany almost to the Lazio border, the terroir and wines here have such a uniqueness that will ultimately cause you to absolutely fall for these wines.

The Rosso is made with 80% Ciliegiolo and 20% Sangiovese and is ultra-fresh and engaging due to the non-use of oak. Fruit-dominated with savory raspberry, sage and lurking violet and spiced earth in the background. Juicy with classy, mouth-filling Southern Tuscan flavors that fill the mouth nicely from start to finish. At this price, we encourage you to buy a bunch and liberally toss it back!

2015 Montauto Maremma Bianco
'Enos 1"
$19.99 btl./$119.94 - six pack

When it comes to white wine in Tuscany, there is a whole bunch of schlock that must waded through in order to get to the good stuff. Upon tasting this 100% Sauvignon Blanc, I was a bit skeptical but no fear, it lasted for mere seconds upon the first moment that I put the glass to the nose. I guess that means always trust Pancetta!

Definitely not France and certainly not New Zealand, enticing marine notes are fleshed out with honeydew melon, pineapple and lime. The palate is round, refined and layered, with excellent balance between the clean and almost piercing acidity, minerality and depth of lively fruit. I have yet to pair this with food but I can see it going with a ceviche or marinated tuna.
